October 7 2023 The Day Israel Was Attacked
Standing with Israel in a Time of Crisis
The horrific attack from Hamas near the Gaza border brought shock and mourning across the entire world. Many Israelis suffered loss and trauma; war was declared! Over 400,000 Israeli reservists were called up to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in just a few weeks after the attack. The Israeli government was unprepared to supply the necessary food and provisions for the IDF soldiers; ILM quickly went into action! With your help, our Israeli team was able to provide food, tents, generators, and other much-needed provisions to the IDF soldiers.
Families fled the southern border without a place to stay, food, clothing, or other needed provisions. Our ILM team began coordinating resources for families and communities in need.
It will take years for Israel to heal from this war. Many were traumatized by the attack which leads us to another need, emotional care. ILM has an online outreach in place for Israelis to reach out to one of our team members for emotional support. They can also read helpful articles and watch videos that provide Biblical teaching for life's struggles.

Community Outreach
Building Connection Through Compassion
Every week, ILM volunteers with a local non-profit organization called Beit Lev Cham (House of the warm heart). We help deliver food to needy families in Nesher.
Volunteering with non-profit organizations such as Beit Lev Cham not only allows us to support families in practical ways but also gives us the chance to strengthen and support the community of Nesher.
Each visit isn't just about delivering food—it’s about showing up, offering a smile, and letting people know they are loved and not forgotten.
Building relationships with families like Noam & Tamar, Moshe & Deborah, and Ethiopian Jews like Rachel and her family has shown us that small acts of kindness can bring warmth and provide much-needed support during life’s unexpected challenges. Proverbs 3:27 "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it."

Ukrainian Jewish Refugees
Supporting Refugees Returning to Their Homeland
When Russia launched the invasion of Ukraine, thousands began fleeing the country. Israel Lives Ministries was part of assisting UKRAINIAN JEWISH REFUGEES at the Hungary/ Ukraine border and we continue to help the refugees in Israel when the need arises.
Some parents unable to leave Ukraine sent their teenage children to Israel without them. With the help of our supporters, we were able to really bless these young people with a fun day trip in northern Israel. We rented a bus and took them to different Biblical sites. Then we treated them to lunch at an upscale restaurant on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
We were made aware of 400 Israeli families in need of food for the Sukkot holiday (Feast of Tabernacles). These families are UKRAINIAN JEWISH REFUGEES and HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS! The city of Karmiel, Israel invited ILM to man our own booth and pass out gift cards to Ukrainian Jewish Refugees.

Israel Population
Israel’s total population is roughly 9.8–10.0 million (2023/2024 estimates); about 73% are Jewish (Approx. 7.2–7.4 million Jews are living in Israel.) Wikipedia+1
Among Jewish Israelis, self-identification breaks down roughly into secular ~40–45%, traditional ~30–35%, religious ~10–12%, ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) ~11–14%, and Christian just under 2% (180,300). There is a wide spectrum of belief and practice inside Israel’s society. Jewish Virtual Library+1

Immigration
Israel’s Jewish population includes large immigrant communities — especially Russian/former-Soviet origin (hundreds of thousands) and Ethiopian Jews — plus long-standing Israeli-born communities. Immigration (aliyah) continues each year, though flows vary. Pew Research Center+

Social Strengths
Israeli society shows high civic activation and rapid volunteer mobilization in crises. Many citizens (across secular, religious and Arab communities) step forward to volunteer after attacks or disasters. ResearchGate+1
